Course overview

We are glad to inform you that the institute is established PG course in 2016 -17 and permitted to admit post graduate candidates 2017-18 onwards, and is the only institute offers post graduation course in nursing at Amravati district. The institute is permitted with an annual intake of 10 students; five students each for medical surgical nursing and community health nursing branch.

The course of study leading to masters of Science in nursing is a full time program (no part time / no correspondence course) comprises of two completed academic years including research work. Candidates seeking admission may choose any one branch at the time of admission, and candidates those who opts branch of medical surgical nursing must choose super specialty. No change of branch shall be permitted after cutoff date of admission. Candidates may enroll their names on or before cutoff date and the procedure of admission is made on first come first serve basis / spot admission at institutional level.

Program Outcome

The Program is designed to prepare the post graduate students to develop leadership qualities that aids to practice in first level positions independently and efficiently as a nurse specialist, educator, administrator, and researcher in various health sectors across the globe.

The Post graduate with M.Sc. Nursing degree Course will be able to -

On completion of First Year M.Sc. Nursing the students will be able to -

  • understand the concepts of current trends and issues in nursing education, latest education technology, bridging the gap between theory and practice, principles of nursing science, research process and biostatistics.

  • demonstrate skill in application nursing theories in to practice, effective planning in nursing and mastery over holistic nursing care.

  • appreciate the principles of nursing science, nursing care services, ethico-legal concepts and steps of nursing research.

On completion of Second Year M.Sc. Nursing the students will be able to -

  • understand the concepts of nurse specialist, nurse researcher, nurse educator and nurse administrator.

  • demonstrate skill in steps of nursing research & statistics, leadership/mentor and decision making abilities effectively and efficiently.

  • appreciate the role of nurse in various health care setting, code of ethics & legal policies, nurse as a administrator/researcher and higher education in nursing profession.

Eligibility criteria for admission

  • Medically fit

  • RNRM from any state nursing council after completion of Basic B. Sc. (N) / Post Basic B. Sc. (N) / B. Sc. Hons. (N) Course from INC recognized institute with minimum aggregate of 55%, and 5% relaxation for SC/ST candidates.

  • One year work experience after Basic B. Sc. (N) and one year work experience before or after Post Basic B. Sc. (N)

  • No parallel / simultaneous attendance in other course during masters of science in nursing
